Aikau gives a famous quote by Walk on page 187 with, "in order to know where you're going you have to know where you came from." This seems to be a common theme across our readings, this looking back and reclaiming both the ugly and pretty of history that has been played out, seeing it for all of its colonialist and/or political agenda. It's a question we've visited: How can the education/political/religious/community realms contribute to this?
